Welcome to York Kennel Club!
We are licensed by the American Kennel Club and are
committed to advancing the ownership and sport of
purebred dogs while encouraging members in the
community to engage in responsible pet ownership.
The club supports and hosts a variety of events including the Celtic Classic Dog Show, a variety of dog-friendly activities such as Dog Day in the Park, handling classes, CGC testing, health testing for example CERF and cardiac auscultation clinics, as well as educational programs. The YKC Breeder Referral List helps individuals in the local region search for purebred dogs in the York, Pennsylvania area.
In 2009, the York Kennel Club received a proclamation from the York County Commissioners of Pennsylvania proclaiming September 19, 2009 AKC Responsible Dog Ownership Day with York Kennel Club and the American Cancer Society jointly hosting Bark for Life in the local community.
Member activities include regularly scheduled General Meetings with special presentations and programs. Recent programs included canine CPR, canine acupuncture and requirements for pet-assisted therapy visits. All members receive the YKC bi-monthly Canine Capers Newsletter and have the option of appearing on the YKC Breeder Referral List.
